At SiSU we have a range of group classes. No matter what your fitness level, experience or interests, you’re sure to find something for you. Our classes include CrossFit, Essentials and Restorative Yoga.
At SiSU we truely believe that CrossFit is for everyone. All you need to do is look at our members – we’ve got teenagers to members in their 70’s, new mums, members recovering from injury, those who haven’t exercised in years and others who have been doing CrossFit for more than 10 years. However we realise that due to the variety of our members and the individual goals of each member we needed some structured variation in our classes. We developed a program that offers a CrossFit style for everyone. All of our CrossFit classes offer variations to suit each individual from beginner to advanced, from those looking to get fitter, stronger or learn high level CrossFit skills. Choose between CrossFit Perform, CrossFit Move or CrossFit ModWOD for your perfect class. To find out more about CrossFit at SiSU click here.
In any of our CrossFit classes you can choose our CrossFit Move program. This program is all about training at a high intensity. CrossFit Move mixes traditional cardio exercises such as skipping, running and rowing with metabolic complexes such as jump squats and burpees and resistance training. It runs alongside our CrossFit Perform programming but offers higher repetitions and lower weights with extra bursts of cardio, so you can push hard and keep moving for the whole session.
Some days will have a body weight focus, think exercises like jump squats, burpees and sit ups, other days you’ll get to use a bunch of equipment like kettle bells, dumbbells and wall balls. No two sessions are alike which is great for the body and the mind!
CrossFit Move is a great option for beginners or those with goals that focus on fitness and cardiovascular health.
In any of our CrossFit classes you can choose our CrossFit Perform program. This program is about skill development across all the elements of CrossFit. It is designed for people of all backgrounds, ages, skill and fitness levels and combines elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, functional movements and cardio. The CrossFit Perform program is more typical of what you would see at other CrossFit gyms. The workouts are different every day and each workout has various scaling options to cater for all levels of fitness and abilities.
We recommend CrossFit Perform for those who want an equal balance of heavier weight training and high intensity training.
Our CrossFit ModWOD class has been designed with two groups of people in mind. Those who are new to CrossFit and those who want to spend extra time in their session focussing on technique and good movement. We think this class is perfect if you’re returning from a recent injury and need to modify your workout more than what is offered in our daily scaling options.
The CrossFit ModWOD class follows a similar program to our CrossFit Move or CrossFit Perform classes. It is generally adapted to allow for more training and practise at the beginning of each class.
The other benefit of doing CrossFit ModWOD? We put on an extra coach just for you*!
Essentials is all about getting back to basics that are imperative to moving well. It focuses on a combination of core, balance and basic movement patterns. We use a range of exercises inspired from Pilates, Yoga and traditional Strength and Conditioning programs.
Every exercise is done with a specific intention. The focus is on listening to your body and feeling the muscles work in every exercise.
This is a slower paced class but that doesn’t mean it will be easy! Like all our classes it will be scaled to suit every level.
At SiSU we run a number of Yin Yoga (Stretch Yoga) classes each week. Yoga is often used to promote flexibility in areas often perceived as nonmalleable, especially the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
At SiSU we believe Yoga is an excellent compliment to our higher intensity, strength based classes. Finishing the week with a Yoga class will have you feeling good and ready to tackle the next week of training at 100%.
How we’re different
At SiSU, our group fitness classes are at the core of what we do. In each class our team are there to coach, motive and help you improve. We keep our classes small to make sure we can connect with every member in every class every time. That means you get more personalised and tailored coaching. With no more than 12 people in any class there is no chance you’ll feel lost or left behind.
The aim of each week’s programming is to get you moving and one step closer to achieving your health and fitness goals. Every class is specifically programmed to ensure maximum results no matter how many days a week you can commit to training. Our head coach ensures that all classes are suitable no matter your level of fitness or experience. Injured? That’s ok! You can still train as part of our regular class schedule. Our head coach and physiotherapist work together to adapt the class to suit you.
Training at SiSU will be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before.
