General Questions

Sisu is a unique Finnish concept. It stands for the philosophy that what must be done will be done, regardless of what it takes. Sisu is a special strength and persistent determination and resolve to continue and overcome in the moment of adversity… an almost magical quality. It is a combination of stamina, perseverance, courage and determination held in reserve for hard times.

There are a lot of things we do differently to other gyms out there. We believe what makes SiSU unique includes:

  • Our three service pillars (fitness, rehab, wellbeing) collectively creating a holistic and integrative service offering
  • Our group fitness classes (including CrossFit), not exceeding 12 participants
  • Our commitment to ensuring no member falls through the cracks – not only do we guarantee results, but you will never feel unknown

Yes we have on-site parking.

Between the hours of 5am – 7am and 5pm – 7pm there are 15 available car spaces on-site. Outside those hours we have 3 dedicated SiSU car spaces available 24 hours a day.

Our neighbours have been very generous in sharing their car spaces with us during our peak class times. Please be mindful of our neighbours and only use the additional spaces during the designated hours.

PLEASE NOTE –  car spaces 3, 4 and 5 from Unit 2 are not available for use at any time.

There is also plenty of car parking along the side streets. We suggest Green Terrace or Cox Road.

Group Classes & Personal Training

At SiSU we have two different group membership options.

  • Our unlimited membership is $59/week.
  • Our 3 sessions/week membership is $52/week.

We also offer a 10 class pack for $225 and drop-in sessions are $25 per class.

Yes absolutely! We know how important it is to make sure you’re comfortable with a place before committing to a membership.

At SiSU we offer a free 7 day trial for any new members who wants to try out our classes.

Additionally all our memberships start with a 3 month commitment and then all members are placed on a month to month membership. No lock-in contracts here!

Absolutely! We love having visitors stop by.

You’ll still need to fill in some paperwork and our coaches may give you a call before your class just to make sure you’ll be confident joining in with our programming.

Our drop-in sessions are $25 a class.

Staying in Brisbane a little longer? We also have 10 class passes available for $225.

If you’ve never done CrossFit before and are a little intimidated by what you’ve seen and heard about it, we hear you.  In fact, years and years ago, Agatha (Founder & Health Coach) felt exactly the same way.

She joined a local CrossFit gym to do their HIIT classes and after a number of months of training realised she had been doing a form of CrossFit all along. She not only fell in love with CrossFit but she saw massive improvements in herself, both physically and mentally.  She literally went from saying, ’no, I don’t do CrossFit’, to saying, ’seriously, why would anyone not do CrossFit?!’.

So we understand your hesitation and want to make your introduction to CrossFit as un-scary as possible. We do this by checking in with you frequently plus we offer ModWOD classes – our CrossFit class specifically for beginners. Its a smaller class than we normally run and is taken by our physiotherapist so you know you’ll be in good hands!

If we haven’t convinced you to at least give it a go, that’s a-OK too.  We have two other class types that we offer: Move45 and Essentials and you can still 100% achieve your goals with them.

No; we offer all of our services to anyone who needs them, group members and non-group members alike.

As an unlimited group member of SiSU, you do get added bonuses such as a 20% discount off personal training and health coaching sessions and up to 10% off all other services.

However, even as a non-group member, you still get some perks! If you do more than 1 personal training session a week you’ll get 10% off your weekly personal training bill.

Health Coaching

A health coach is a wellness professional whose main goal is to guide clients reach their health and wellbeing goals.  These goals may include sleeping better, boosting energy, managing weight, or stress, amongst others.  Health coaches take a holistic approach to health, not just focusing on food but all other areas of life that can support and nourish your overall health.

A health coach does not diagnose or treat, but instead is trained to help clients reach their health goals, through guidance and supportive mentoring.  They encourage positive changes and empower clients to take responsibility for their health and achievement of their personal health and wellbeing goals.  A good way to think of it is like this – in sport, the coach (health coach) is on the side, supporting, guiding the player (client) during the game (life).  The coach considers what they can do to help, then educates and inspires the player in doing their best.

A health coach can help you with any health and wellbeing challenges you are facing, or goals you may have.  Ultimately, a health coach will help you embed positive practices in your life, permanently.

They support clients with:

  • weight management
  • food cravings
  • sleep
  • energy
  • stress management
  • digestion
  • motivation
  • permanent health and wellness outcomes
  • overall health and happiness

In short, however long you need it to.  You and your health coach will together, set a plan at your first appointment, based on what is required to get to where you want to.

There doesn’t always have to be a set time.  Just like when you see a physiotherapist, or other health professionals, the work gets done in the time you need.  More commonly though, because changing habits takes time, participants opt for a 3 or 6 month program.

Both programs include:

  • 12 x 50 minute one on one sessions (face to face at SiSU Windsor or via phone/online) – 3 month will be weekly and 6 month will be fortnightly.
  • Throughout either the 3 or 6 month program, you can email your health coach as many times as you like with any queries, questions you may have.
  • Each fortnight you can expect to receive a minimum of 2 emails; one after your coaching session, summarising key information and action points and another checking in before the upcoming session.
  • Regular additional emails will also be sent, with information on topics discussed, as relevant.

The 3 month option is best suited to you if you have the ability to make changes in your life quickly and if you are both willing and able to implement new habits every week.  Furthermore, if you feel that a weekly session as opposed to a fortnightly session will hold you more accountable, this may be a better option for you.

The 6 month option is best suited to you if you’ve found changing habits quite difficult in the past and if life is already quite hectic for you but you know you need to implement some permanent changes to live a better life.  The fortnightly sessions will give you time to implement the actions set in a more realistic time frame, whist juggling everything else in your busy life.

Personalised programs will be set, outside of this timeframe, based on your personal circumstances and goals.


Our physiotherapist is highly skilled and has the expertise to treat a large variety of conditions. We work with you to not only treat the pain, but also to identify the underlying cause of the pain and manage it where possible.

We treat a variety of conditions including:

Our Physiotherapists are also able to help with Chronic Disease Management in areas such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Cardiovascular ( Heart ) disease
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Mental Health Illness*

No, most clients do not need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist.

However, we do like working closely with your doctor to keep them informed on your treatment and progress. We may also refer you back to your doctor or other medical specialist if we believe it is necessary.

You will need a referral if your fees are being subsidised by Work Cover, Medicare the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, or as part of an insurance claim.

Yes we accept referrals from Work Cover, Third Party Insurers, Department of Veterans’ Affairs and Medicare. Please note there may be a gap payment for these services.

All accounts are to be paid directly after the treatment unless a payment plan has been previously organised with our team.

If your visit is related to a Work Cover/Insurance claim; accounts are to be settled in full at the time of consultation and you are responsible for contacting your case manager for full or partial reimbursement.

If your visit is related to Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) or Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) under a Medicare Team Care Arrangement; accounts are to be settled in full at the time of consultation and we will process the Medicare rebate immediately. To be able to claim, you must have full documentation and your Medicare card.
